The year in review 2024

As the year draws to a close, we at Kruso feel both grateful and a bit moved by everything we’ve achieved in 2024. It’s been a year packed with new projects, new faces, and plenty of laughter. So, we’d like to take a moment to look back, give a virtual high-five to our amazing team, and share a few of the things we’re most proud of.

We’ve launched groundbreaking solutions

For example, together with Husted Vin, we haven’t just built an e-commerce platform – we’ve crafted a soulful digital wine store where customers can get a taste of the story behind every bottle. This solution was developed in DynamicWeb with a focus on user-friendliness, storytelling, and a personalized user experience. You can read more about it here. Naturally, Kruso was also present at the 2024 E-Commerce Conference organized by Dansk Erhverv, where our work with Husted took center stage at our booth, completed with a wine barrel and sample tastings.

All our hard work on this case culminated at the DynamicWeb Summit 2024 in Hamburg, where Kruso and Husted Vin were honored with the “Solution of the Year” award for this innovative digital platform.

Public digitalization

We have continued to contribute to public sector digitization

Our Dutch office specializes in digital transformation and agile working methods, and in 2024, these strengths have proven their value in collaboration with RIVM - the Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment. We have facilitated a transformation process by identifying strengths and challenges, enhancing communication between business and development teams, and integrating data-driven and product-centric decisions. This has elevated RIVM's digital ecosystem to a new level, ensuring their readiness for future challenges in public sector digitization.

In Denmark, we have also continued our success with public sector partnerships, including the development of a new platform for Statens IT, which is currently being rolled out to their extensive client network.

AI business applications – process, learn and act upon any external data

We’ve expanded our AI expertise

With several AI projects across different offices, Kruso has broadened our expertise and gained more hands-on experience in artificial intelligence.

This year, we worked on a feasibility study for the Danish Parliament (Folketinget) to develop a chatbot that can actually carry out actions on behalf of the user. We’ve also introduced AI solutions to Skive Municipality with rek.ai and to Billund Municipality with Raffle.ai.

We have helped global companies move forward on their journey

Among other achievements, we have contributed to simpler global data analysis for ISS, one of the world’s leading providers of facility services. By implementing Piwik Pro, we delivered a solid and compliant solution for collecting and analyzing data across 36 markets.

We also elevated Triumph Motorcycles’ digital presence. With the successful rollout of their commercetools- and Uniform-based commerce platform in the USA, we established a strong foundation for future growth. Simultaneously, we initiated a redesign of their global digital experience platform in close collaboration with a local design partner. When Black Friday arrived, Triumph stood stronger than ever with record-breaking online sales and a reliable e-commerce platform to support them. As the crowning achievement, we ended the year with an intensive two-day roadmap planning session with Triumph's core team in Hinckley, paving the way for 2025 and beyond.

Kruso has welcomed new clients and embarked on new journeys

Among them is Läkarmissionen, an international relief organization that supports vulnerable people in impoverished areas. This is an important new partner for Kruso, as we aim to make a difference for those in need. Our team in Stockholm is excited to kick off the project!

In the new year, Kruso will build a brand-new platform for them in Sanity CMS, and we look forward to unveiling the digital solution that will help them reach even further.

We celebrated our first year in the Netherlands

… With a bang of a Christmas party! It was the perfect cocktail of festivities and professional insights, featuring presentations by Change Consultant Dave van Herpen and DASA CEO Rik Farenhorst. The event also served as a kick-off for our new partnership with DASA, which will help us sharpen our skills in DevOps and agile methodologies.

This Christmas party was Kruso’s first event of many, and who knows – maybe something similar will come to Denmark in 2025?

We have immersed ourselves in digital twins

For example, in Hamburg, where our German office is working on a digital twin of Hamburg Central Station, developed for Deutsche Bahn. The collaboration has been extended, allowing us to add even more layers to the project!

And as an extra recognition for the talented team, the German Minister of Transport and Digitalization praised our development of a digital twin of the Köhlbrand Bridge in Hamburg in one of his speeches.

We’ve listened to our Krusaders

None of the above would have been possible without our fantastic Krusaders – our dedicated team of digital enthusiasts. In the summer of 2024, we took the time to find out how our employees prefer to work, and the results varied from country to country. Our Danish colleagues love the hybrid model and prefer being in the office about three days a week, while our German colleagues prefer fewer physical meetups. We took this to heart and found a new, cooler – but smaller – office for our German team. So, when they do come in, it’s to a place that truly inspires and motivates.

Common to all is that social interaction is key to well-being. That’s why we introduced “Get Together Monday,” where the entire team meets in person every Monday. It gives us a fantastic start to the week: we look one another in the eye, share weekend stories, and plan the week ahead. So far, the initiative has been a great success – and Monday mornings are far from gray!

Thank you for 2024 – see you in 2025!

We’d like to send a big thank-you to everyone who has been part of our journey in 2024 – customers, partners, colleagues, and friends of the house. We’re looking forward to 2025, where we’ll continue to create digital experiences that make a difference. Maybe the new year will bring even more cases, new technologies, new ways of working – and maybe a party or two? One thing’s for sure: we can’t wait to have you along for the ride.

See you in the new year!

And we had such a great time
