This transformation has required a modernization of the underlying IT landscape and a redesigned website that can support FolkeFerie.dk's brand and vision.

From strategy to final solution

In the collaboration with FolkeFerie.dk, Kruso acted as the lead agency – from initial strategic consulting regarding UI/UX, system architecture, and future road map to final delivery. The focus was on creating a solution that combines stability and flexibility with a seamless user experience and conversion optimization.

FolkeFerie.dk needed a more structured approach to their digital development and a platform that ensures an inspiring and effective user journey across all channels.

Effective user journey across all channels

FolkeFerie.dk needed more effective conversion flows and user journeys regardless of the device the customer is using. Therefore, we created an entirely new way of showcasing FolkeFerie.dk's hotels, along with a faster search function in a modern design developed in collaboration with Kraftvaerk.

The new functionalities were adapted to FolkeFerie's existing visual identity and continue the proud traditions and the ambition to remain one of Danes’ preferred travel agencies.

Compared to the same period last year, we are not only seeing an overall increase in travel sales, but also that more people are booking their trips via our website. That’s a very positive trend.

New modern technical platform on Umbraco 13

FolkeFerie.dk's previous solution was based on a version of Umbraco that had reached end-of-life (EOL) and would therefore no longer be supported. Continued maintenance would have become disproportionately expensive and resulted in unstable performance.

The new platform is built on Umbraco 13, following best practices for Umbraco implementations. The solution is developed with a composable system architecture based on open APIs, with complex integration to Tourpaq, which provides data to all core purchasing flows.

Additionally, the new technical foundation has resulted in lower operating costs, more efficient editorial workflows, faster and more cost-effective development and customization, as well as increased security and improved site performance.
