3Shape is one of Denmark’s fastest-growing companies on global scale. They offer high-end 3D dental scanning software and devices to dentists all over the world.
Digital plays a central role in 3Shape’s marketing strategy. It drives new business, resale, customer service, and product branding – globally across all their markets. As part of 3Shapes growth strategy they formulated an ambitious omni channel approach to market and sell next generation of digital services. this included a global commerce platform. The goal was to offer clients a seamless 360 digital commerce experience when using 3Shape’s solutions. Since 2017 we have been helping 3Shape bringing this vision to life at global scale.
Our journey with 3Shape began with an effective hand-over process making it possible to maintain and optimize the previous Umbraco-commerce solution. Together with the maintenance of the running systems we developed their new global e-commerce platform structured as an MVP-project. The platform is built in Sitecore with Ucommerce as commerce engine. The process we chose is a combination of waterfall and agile project approach – popularly known as “water-scrum-fall”. This means that strategy, idea, concept, and general wireframes are developed more traditionally while technical development complies with 100 per cent agile principles. A close corporation is key when it comes to our relation to 3Shape as we have brought together a strong team of employees from 3Shape’s own digital organization and a number of our consultants across consulting, technical development and project management. The shared teams ability to work together is the key to success in all projects we launch together. Kruso was primarily responsible for all commerce aspects of the project.
The new global B2B platform launched in June 2018 and online sales has increased significantly year on year, today representing an important revenue stream for the company. Next up for us is to rethink their technical commerce set up and software stack to support the continuous scaling of their commerce channel.
